Intelligent, Efficient and Reliable: Powering the Foundation of the AI Era

2025-08-19

“Enhancing power reliability, improving operational maintainability and predictability, and meeting the high standards of computing centers comprehensively.”

With artificial intelligence driving the surge in computing power demand, the high power and high-density requirements of smart computing centers are becoming increasingly prominent. The power of a single GPU rack has jumped from 20kW to over 100kW, and it my even reach megawatt levels in the future. This presents a significant challenge to traditional power systems.

At the 2025 China Smart Computing Industry Ecosystem Development Conference hosted by China IDC Circle, EVADA (Xiamen) Technology Co., Ltd. Vice President Huang Jingguo was invited for an interview to discuss how EVADA is addressing this trend with innovative power solutions.

Mr. Huang pointed out that as computing center power loads and electricity consumption continue to rise, the need for stable and efficient power supply systems presents new challenges. In response, EVADA has launched the EPower prefabricated power module, integrating medium-voltage distribution, UPS, and intelligent distribution into a single system. This design reduces link losses and enhances efficiency. The product uses new power components such as silicon carbide to replace traditional IGBTs, improving UPS efficiency to meet the high power demands of AI workloads, and can even achieve megawatt-level distribution in a single rack.

EPower reduces intermediate losses and optimizes space utilization, which is especially important in smart computing centers where space is limited, Huang said. The design concept of EPower is full-chain intelligent integration, utilizing prefabricated and modular designs to significantly improve deployment efficiency. The EPower system employs intelligent monitoring for predictive maintenance and, combined with AI platforms, enhances the reliability and intelligent management of power supply systems, providing highly efficient and reliable power support for smart computing centers.

To meet high power demands, EVADA has introduced a 1.5 MW modular UPS system, equipped with twelve 125kW 3U modules, achieving an efficiency of over 97%. Achieving high power output in such a compact form is a major technical challenge, Mr. Huang emphasized. This is made possible by breakthroughs in silicon carbide devices and DSP control algorithms, positioning EVADA as an industry leader in this field.

Liquid cooling technology has become a mainstream configuration in smart computing centers, posing even greater challenges for power supply systems. We are actively exploring the synergy between liquid cooling and power systems, including cooling for UPS, distribution, and IP protection, Mr. Huang explained. EVADA has over 20 years of experience in the power electronics industry and has successfully applied liquid cooling technology in energy storage and PCS systems, which strongly supports innovation in power supply solutions for smart computing centers.

“High integration, high density, and high efficiency,” looking to the future, Mr. Huang stated that EVADA will continue to combine digital twin technology and predictive maintenance to enhance power supply system capabilities. “We aim to make power supply systems more reliable and operational maintenance more predictable and manageable, to meet the needs of computing centers.”
