As the city drifts into slumber, the lights of the laboratory shine brighter than the stars and moon. In the batter for CGC (China General Certification) certification of the IP20 version PCS project, engineers at EVADA R&D center overcame numerous challenges and successfully obtained certification in May 2024.

Hardware Breakthroughs

The schedule of the certification agency was exceptionally tight, requiring the EMC tests to be conducted during the late hours. To meet these demands, the hardware team adopted a day-night relay approach. They spent the day fine-tuning adjustments at the company, while also dedicating long hours at the testing agency to collect real-time data.

The team made tremendous efforts, facing many challenges head-on. Resolving radiation issues became a top priority. The module rotation test proved to be a breakthrough, with each adjustment to the module parameters carefully considered to find the most effective solution. Meanwhile, the cable layout optimization was meticulously executed, with each team member focused on refining every connection to reach the best configuration.
In the end, their hard work paid off as the interference was successfully constrained within the standard limits. The result was a valuable, reusable adjustment plan, paving the way for continued technical progress.
Software Breakthrough: From 0 To 1
The software team’s journey was another story entirely.
Separated by tens of kilometers, the software team tirelessly collaborated with the hardware and testing departments. They had made over ten round tips between the testing agency and the company’s lab, with metro gate even recognizing their ID badges covered in soldering debris.

Despite the limited resources, the software team achieved three major breakthroughs in the software control system:
Functionality Implementation: Through modular design, they gradually built the core architecture, completing iterations from basic operations to full functionality.
Certification Compatibility: They developed a virtual testing environment that successfully validated the compatibility of functional logic and certification requirements.
User Experience Optimization: The virtual testing environment was also used to enhance the user experience in tandem with functionality validation.
United Effort: Achieving CGC Certification
As the last test report passed review on the final evening of May, the entire lab fell into a profound silence, only interrupted by the hum of the air conditioning system.
The nights bathed in starlight had finally turned into a shining galaxy, illuminating the path ahead. This moment marked the collective achievement of the entire EVADA R&D team. They were not only witnesses to the success of the IP20 PCS project’s CGC certification but also its participants and builders.
